Second Lieutenant Jalen Wade of the United States Army was recognized before the Coogs took on UCF.

Jalen has served our country since 2020 and is currently serving as a Second Lieutenant, preparing to step into his role as an Incoming Medical Platoon Leader with a Combat Sustainment Battalion.​

A former collegiate track athlete at both the University of Houston and Texas Southern University, Jalen began his collegiate career at UH from 2012 to 2014.​

His leadership and service have been recognized with two Army Achievement Medals, an Army Commendation Medal, and the honor of being named a Distinguished Military Graduate by Cadet Command at Fort Knox.​
